Profile

My status:
AIMC Berkeley Administrator
My Tagline:
Good ideas, served fresh
Acupuncture education/license level:
I'm a fellow traveler.
My acupuncture story:
As a kid, my mom talked about getting acupuncture, but all I remembered was that the points near the cuticles were painful. Later, when I was a teenager, somebody's acupuncturist mother did a demonstration and needled anyone who wanted to try. That was when I realized it didn't hurt. I got my first treatment at AIMC Berkeley.
My favorite modality:
eat right + exercise
About Me:
Ever since I first struck out on my own, I have been fascinated with the ways people socialize. I've studied & practiced social modes + motivations ever since as an artist, photographer + designer, marketer, and social networking aficionado.

I am the former Director of Marketing for AIMC Berkeley and now develop Web & social media, such as AIMC.edu, and this social network. I earned an BA in American Studies from the University of California, Davis, studying the cultural aspects of management & marketing. I'm now in the marketing & social media field in Denver, Colorado.

My personal projects include the Post-modern Photo Safari, Colfax Love + the Colfax Cruise, and the Abundance League.
My Web site, practice, or blog:

My second favorite Web site:

Bridging the Real World and the Online World

I believe the next wave in online social networking is to use these tools to build bridges between the real world and the online world. For example I created a social network devoted to Colfax Avenue in order to have people discover each other online and come together for outings along Colfax Avenue in Denver, Colorado. The Acupuncture Channel is similarly intended to enhance real-world interactions for people studying and practicing acupuncture.

The "Click Fwd To See What Happens" Meme spreads through Facebook

This little fish could be the thing that brings Facebook down to its knees. It's a little social engineered virus that's spreading through Facebook via Slide Networks Funwall Application. If you click forward like it says, it just replicates itself to ALL. YOUR. FRIENDS. It's terri… Continue

Taj,

Thanks for the tip on SEO optimization. I'm a novice when it comes to this stuff, so your help is appreciated. Somehow my blog has made it to #2 on Google with the search terms "healthy skeptic" - through no help of my own, clearly!

Christ, I understand your surprise and have removed the picture you mentioned. While I do not happen to be the one who used the photo as the group avatar (this group has more than one administrator), I do believe it was used with the best intentions. Nevertheless, your concern is valid. I will make sure that any picture the group uses is vetted in the future.

peace taj,
i just noticed that my son kaya is pictured on the diversity committee photo. i did not give permission for this photo to be used. it would be great if you could at the very least notify me that my underage child is going to used in a token photo for a group i am not a part of. i trust that the intentions were pure but it was a bit startling. the web is a powerful tool and i want to ensure the safety of my kids. thanks for understanding.
be well,
christ

Thanks for the comment, Taj.

I was going to study with Pitchford at Heartwood this summer, but then I decided to apply to AIMC instead.

I'm a Yo San kid down in Los Angeles, thanks for asking! It's interesting to me that you are in Denver as that is one of the 3 places I'm looking to settle into once my boards and ortho classes are wrapped up here...I may want to pick your brain a little sometime, if that would be ok.

I love Denver! but the current plan is to do the Southern route. Probably not the best idea for July/August, but I took the Northern route out and the middle back last summer. I'll definitely keep your path recommendations in mind for future treks...

That's right, still in the Northeast! I plan to caravan across the country this summer and arrive in Berkeley mid-August.
